Why I Built This
Who this is for and what this website is all about
I've spent 18 years helping companies get found online.
Websites. SEO. Google Ads. Lead generation. That's been my work, and I'm good at it. I've helped construction companies, law firms, medical practices, and dozens of other small businesses grow their revenue through digital marketing.
But somewhere along the way, I noticed something that kept me up at night.
I'd build a company a great website. Run their ads. Get their phone ringing. And then find out later that 40% of those calls went unanswered. Or that they had no idea which jobs actually made them money. Or that their best customers — the ones worth ten times what a single job pays — were walking out the door because nobody had a system for keeping them.
The marketing was working. The revenue system wasn't.
That's not a marketing problem. It's not an accounting problem either. It lives in the gap between the two — and for most companies, nobody's job description covers that gap.
Know Your Revenue exists to cover that gap.
I'm not a CPA. I'm not a financial advisor. I'm a marketing expert who thinks in revenue terms — someone who's spent two decades watching what happens upstream of the books and learning how to find the leaks before they show up as a margin problem nobody can explain.
The Analysis section of this site is where I'll be publishing what I find. Real findings from real engagements. Frameworks for thinking about revenue problems. Questions worth asking before your next budget meeting. No jargon. No fluff. Written for owners, operators, and the CFOs who work alongside them.
This is the first post. More are coming.
If something here sounds familiar — if you've been staring at a revenue number that doesn't add up and can't figure out why — the application is at knowyourrevenue.com.
That's why I built this.
